This year we celebrated the 8th Annual John Patrick Sands, Jr. Memorial Golf Outing. Eight successful years, that is hard to believe! Of course, the success of this golf outing is only due to the very generous individuals who step up each year and donate their time and money in memory of John Patrick Sands, Jr.
After last year’s outing, John Colfer came up with a great idea to raise some additional money for the John Patrick Sands, Jr. Memorial Fund. John, as some of you know, has an awesome back yard that includes a professional wiffleball stadium. I kid you not! His wiffleball field includes lights, an announcer’s booth, 20ft. foul poles, a homerun fence, and grass that looks like Citizens Bank Park. It really is something to see. Anyway, John held a one day wiffleball tournament which included six teams who all put up $250.00 each of their own money and the winners donated the entire pot to The John Patrick Sands Memorial Fund. It was a GREAT time and we really appreciated John opening up his house and his yard for our charity. Thanks again John!
On another note, there is one more very important piece of information that needs to be mentioned here. As all of you are aware, John Sands, Jr. has a daughter Shannon. Well, this past spring, Shannon graduated from Holy Family University with her degree in nursing and then went on to pass her nursing boards and is now officially an RN. CONGRATULATIONS SHANNON! GREAT JOB! I know that your Dad is looking down from Heaven and could not be more proud of you. You are a beautiful and talented young lady, and more importantly, a good and caring person. Keep up the good work and remember that we all love you and are always here for you.
